The BM-30 Smerch (9K58) is a Soviet-era multiple rocket launcher, designed in the 1980s to devastate enemy troops, armored vehicles, and infrastructure. Entering service in 1989, this powerful system became a key asset in modern artillery warfare. Armed with 280mm rockets, it was first identified by the West as the MRL 280mm M1983. Since 2018, it has been gradually replaced by the 9A52-4 Tornado.
