Geonosis, known as Geonosia by some natives, was the homeworld of the Geonosians. A desert and inhospitable planet, Geonosis was the first capital of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, hosting its main droid foundries. It was the site of the First Battle of Geonosis, the initial conflict of the Clone Wars. After the battle, Geonosis was invaded by the Galactic Republic.
